Embracing the universe within oneself
Today I am as vigorous as ever. I have been listening to the music from the Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered concert held on 12th May. Yesterday night, the music of Azmnokkan River made me unusually moved to the bottom of my heart. All the concerns I had were wiped away. I realized the power of the spirituality of Koguryo. At my atelier, I played the same music again and wondered why wars had perpetuated in the history of Koguryo while messages I received from its great kings were always telling me how they had wished to create a new world that would make every people happy. Eventually I became furious against regimes and nations that tried to destroy a beautiful society and people who were living happy lives. Because I considered that an act of anger was in contradiction to love, I was at a loss how to cope with my irresistible emotion. I kept on drawing my piece of work finally to find out that I have created an exquisitely elegant one full of love. I realized that my anger was derived from love and tears came up in my eyes. I recalled how I came to make my mind-scape series for the first time. It was when Lebanon was bombed daily by the Israeli army and the city of Cana witnessed numerous victims of boys and girls. I shouted to stop it. I had to do something to protect their lives. I really wanted to fly to Lebanon though there was no way at the time of the war. Then I drew my first piece of art out of enormous grievance and mourning for the lost lives. I could not even see what I was drawing because of my tearful eyes. But it came out as a beautiful piece of art I came to understand that when the purest light of the human mind was manifested, the division between right and wrong, light and darkness, became visible to everybody on this planet. There is no need to fight any longer. I decided to dedicate myself to showing the future vision of the world true to the purest light of my life, then people will come to understand naturally what shall be the space for human kind to live in. The most pleasant thing for us is to embrace the universal nature within ourselves full of love and the truth. Human life can even transcend the time-frame of past, present and future. Or a future can be found within one’s life.
