Appreciating a new culture

I heard from the former ambassador of Jordan to Japan that in a dessert, townspeople came to know the opening of a night of poetry by the sound of making coffee and tuning musical instruments. I loved the scenery. Today at my poetic reading event, Messages of Mother Earth, I decided to read a series of writings entitled Reika, accompanied by the piano improvisation of Mr.Idaki Shin. When I was reading about flowers the sound of the piano played by him seemed to express them true to life. Today I expressed a woman’s sadness, so I shed tears, deeply impressed by delicate and exquisite music. Mr. Katsuaki, the son of Mr. Idaki Shin, has deliberately selected and projected on to the screen beautiful pictures in accordance with scenes in my narrations. This combination of poetry, music and visuals was what I wished to realize for years. This was a completely new type of performance that I anticipated for some time. Today I did it because I had what I called a heavenly message. My internal vision and what people see at my performance coincided marvelously. Mr. Idaki Shin once stressed the unity of what one saw and what one heard because this unity would integrate one’s rationality with emotion. What we did tonight was born of new culture, encounter, creative mind and love. I was extremely happy to be able to share it with my fellow people. As if in a town in a dessert, we appreciated poems with an intimate audience over the aroma of coffee.
