Dream of Lebanon

Today I made an installation of my art works at the exhibition hall in Palais d’UNESCO, Beirut. I was extremely satisfied with the advent of a beautiful space. Mr. Idaki Shin selected one named The Wisdom of King Tomei to place at the center of the exhibition. Then the whole exhibit seemed animated with joy and I felt that the center of all of Lebanon was settled. He wrote “Koma” in Japanese calligraphy and put it in front of the work. Then he continued to write “Amnokwang river”, “Dream of Mt. Gojo”, and “Dream of Lebanon” as he asked Mr. Ghazi how he interpreted the work into Arabic and he replied “Dream of Lebanon”. Every calligraphy expressed the realization of global peace. And we decided to put together with “Koma” ,“Dream of Lebanon” as the Arabic title. After all I named my exhibition “Dream of Lebanon”. Everything here is waving harmoniously to gentle breezes of Lebanon and is shining full of a new light of hope. Now I have a pair of “Koma” calligraphy: at the Skyrocket Center, and here in Beirut.
Later today I went down to Hamura shopping area to buy frames for photos printed out by Mr. Idaki Shin and I enjoyed beautiful views on the sea-side road with pleasant breezes. I remembered my first visit to Lebanon. It was soon after when I had lost both my parents and I tried to regain my identity in search of the origin of my ancestors. Mr. Idaki Shin suggested that I go to Lebanon, the center of Phoenician civilization that might be connected with Koguryo in ancient times. And at an historic site in Tyre I  met the soul of my father who taught me the eternal nature of human life. Then I could recover. Eight years have passed and I am indeed grateful to my life as I have realized many dreams of mine and everything is leading me to pave the way for global peace.
