Today, due to the typhoon, I had to cancel the Poetry Gathering at Koma-ya. It was very disappointing, but I considered safety to be the first priority. Now that the natural environment is undergoing major changes, events have had to be cancelled due to weather more often than before. In the past, we proceeded with events no matter what happened, but when I consider how drastically the environment has changed, I understand that it is only natural and important to make decisions with life as a priority. Amid such circumstances, I am always thinking about how to live and how to create the future. Today, having time to stay at home, which rarely happens—in fact, it was the first time in a few decades—gave me an opportunity to think about things I do not usually consider as I reflected on various matters. I am very grateful for this, and it made today a meaningful day.
Now, as I am heading toward October 1st, I delve deeper within myself to keep clearing myself out, so I can welcome that day in a state of beautiful life. This is what I am focused on as I spend each day. Thank you.
